WINCHESTER, Va. - Sophomore Stephanie Hare made her CUA debut a memorable one as she scored three times to give Catholic an 8-0 win against Shenandoah. Hare scored twice in the first half and added her third tally in the 88th minute.

Sophomore Jenny Aspinwall (Chantilly, Va./Chantilly) and freshman Laura Kaye (Annandale, Va./Bishop Ireton) had two goals apiece as the Cardinals won their first season-opener since 1999.

Sophomore Aubrey Maki (Ravena, N.Y./Ravena) netted her first goal of the year just 29 seconds into the game.

Seniors Rachel Glennon (Altamont, N.Y./Guilderland) and Megan Baroody (Alexandria, Va./T.C. Williams) each played a half to combine for the shutout.

The Cardinals resume action on Tuesday as they travel to Washington College for a game, starting at 4 p.m.
