WASHINGTON, D.C. (Oct. 30, 2004) -- The Catholic
University women's soccer team opened the 2004 Capital
Athletic Conference tournament with a 2-0 win over Marymount
University at Lewinsville Park in McLean, Va.
Senior Aubrey Maki (Ravena, N.Y./Ravena) and freshman Diana Napolitano (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J./Immaculate Heart) notched the goals. Catholic tied for fourth place in the conference with Marymount during the regular season, but earned the #5 seed in the tournament on a coin toss tie-breaker.
This victory puts the Cardinals in the CAC semifinals for the second time in school history, the first time being in 1998. The semifinal match will be played on Tuesday, Nov. 2, against the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va. at 2:00 p.m.
