Cards Fall 3-0 to Montclair
Sisti scores three goals against the Cardinal defense
MONTCLAIR, N.J. - Catholic University women's soccer (9-5) dropped a non-conference contest to Montclair State (10-4-2) Sunday afternoon in New Jersey. Natalia Sisti scored three goals for the Red Hawks who won 3-0.
Sisti scored her first goal at 23:54 off of a five-yard chip to the right post. The Cards were able to contain the Red Hawk offense only allowing five shots, two on goal in the first half. Unfortunately both shots on goal were scores with Sisti hitting her second at 43:39.
In the second half, the Cardinals took control of the ball but were unable to find the goal. CUA had 13 shots in the half to Montclair's three but didn't score. Sisti put her final tally away at 81:13.
CUA had 18 shots to MSU's eight and took three corner kicks while the Red Hawks attempted one. However, despite leading in offensive categories the Cardinals were downed 3-0. Kim Stengle (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) had three saves for the afternoon while Kristin Kuhmann had 11 for Montclair.
The Cards will play Villa Julie at home on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
