Women's Soccer Earns NSCAA Team Academic Award
Team posts a 3.46 GPA
WASHINGTON- The Catholic University of America women's soccer team has been honored as one of the recipients of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award. The squad achieved an outstanding 3.46 grade point average in the 2005-06 academic year.
CUA went 18-1-2 for the 2005-06 season winning the Capital Athletic Conference and advancing to the NCAA tournament for the first time in program history. The squad was undefeated in the CAC and outscored opponents 77-13.
The Cardinals were also recognized individually with senior Laura Kaye honored as the CAC Player of the Year, Suzie Peters named CAC Rookie of the Year and head coach J.P. Sousa won CAC Coach of the Year.
CUA had a young squad in 2006, the team was 11-8-1 overall but will lose just four seniors for the 2007 season.
