Napolitano Named Women's Soccer Athlete of
Senior became the career assist leader over the weekend
WASHINGTON - The Landmark Conference has named Diana Napolitano (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J./Immaculate Heart) the women's soccer Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 16. The senior captain led CUA to a 1-0 record and has played a major role in the Cardinals' 4-1 start to the season.
In Catholic University's 6-3 victory over Cabrini College on Saturday, Napolitano had a goal and an assist. Her helper gave her the CUA career record with 20 over the past three and a half seasons. Napolitano now holds every program assist record with 20 career, 13 in a season (2005) and four in a game (2005).
The Cards are off to a 4-1 start on the year, after losing to Swarthmore in the first game of the season they have rattled off four straight victories. Napolitano is tied for fourth on the team in goals (2) and first on the squad in assists (2).
CUA will travel to Marymount on Tuesday for a contest versus the Saints at Quincy Field. The game is slated to begin at 6 p.m.
