Offensive Attack and Lights Out Defense Lifts Women's Soccer to 3-0 Win

WASHINGTON-- CUA unleashed an offensive attack that contained 24 shots and three goals, while holding Shenandoah to a single shot in 90 minutes.
Elyse Bellardini (Wayne, N.J./ Wayne Valley) led the attack with a goal, an assist, and a team-leading two shots on goal. Kelly Donnelly (Garden City, N.Y./ Garden City) led the team with seven shots recording one shot on goal, but added an assist on Maggie McCarthy's (Portsmouth, R.I./Portsmouth Abbey) goal in the 49th minute.
Chelsea King (Prospect, Ky./ Presentation) recorded the third goal of the game, in the 72nd minute.
The Cardinals outshot the visiting Hornets, 24-1 and dominated offensive chances with eight corner kicks to the visitors two.
CUA will return to action on the road for a Landmark Conference matchup against Drew University on Saturday, October 18th at 3:30 p.m.
