Women's Soccer Drops Heartbreaker to Cabrini
Radnor, Pa, - The Catholic University Women's Soccer team could not overcome two first half goals by the Cabrini Cavaliers on Saturday afternoon. The 2-1 loss drops the Cardinals record to 2-3-1.
The Cardinals gave up two goals late in the first half, but applied the pressure in the second half and did not allow another goal. This was thanks in part to junior Tere Rossi's performance in goal. She finished the day with nine saves.
The Cardinals outshot their opponents 27-23 on the day, but the only goal they could convert came in the 70th minute of action by freshman Caroline Burke (Tuxedo Park, N.Y). The assist came from freshman Erin Saia (Millersville, M.d.). Sophomore Kelly Donnelly (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) led the Cards with seven shot attempts.
The Cardinals return to action with a home contest on Thursday, September 25th against Frostburg State University.
