WASHINGTON—Four Cardinals scored as CUA (12-1, 2-0 LC)
dominated Juniata (4-9, 1-2 LC) on Saturday, 4-0.
Mary McGann opened the scoring by putting the ball in the back
of the net after a corner kick left it in a scramble in front.
CUA’s offense quieted going to the break with a 1-0 lead.
Just over three minutes into the second half Michelle Spadaro
found her sister cutting to the net. Diana Spadaro headed the feed
just over the goalie’s outstretched arms to give the
Cardinals an insurance goal. This was the first
Spadaro-Spadaro connection of the season.
In the 77th minute Courtney Orgill flicked a Chelsea King freekick
service over the Eagles goalie for her 12th of the year. Feeling
generous again, Michelle Spadaro found Kelly Donnelly in front of
the net for Donnelly’s eighth of the season.
Tere Rossi needed only two saves to earn the team’s ninth
shutout of the season.
The Cardinals return to action on Oct. 17 at 1p.m. on the road at
Scranton.
