Women's Soccer Dominates Wesley, 3-1
DOVER- Junior Kelly Donnelly (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) recorded two goals to lead the CUA women's soccer team to a 3-1 victory over Wesley Saturday afternoon. With the win, the team improves their overall record to 10-1 on the year.
The Cardinals outshot the Wolverines 29-11 throughout the match, and recorded three more corner kicks. Goaltender Christina Cassidy (Furlong, Pa./Central Bucks West) stopped six shots in the net.
CUA wasted no time to get on the scoreboard, as Donnelly found the back of the net just two minutes into the first half. Wesley tied things up at the thirty minute mark, and two teams went into the halftime period at a 1-1 deadlock.
The Cards then opened things up in the second half with a goal by senior Diana Spadaro (Stony Point, N.Y./Albertus Magnus). Donnelly sealed the win with her second goal of the night at the 88 minute mark.
The squad will return to action on October 6th for a 4:30 p.m., contest against non-conference rival Hood College.
