Women's Soccer Places Four on All-Landmark Teams
WASHINGTON-- The Catholic University Women's Soccer team placed four players on the All-Landmark teams this week, three on the first team and one on the second team.
Seniors Diana Spadaro and Helene Nicoletti were voted onto the first team along with junior Kelly Donnelly. Spadaro led the Cardinals as a midfielder and played in all but one game this season. Donnelly led the entire Landmark Conference in points with 35 and scored 14 goals entering tomorrow's match.
Nicoletti was also named Defensive Player of the Year in the Landmark Conference for her outstanding defense. Nicoletti played solid defense throughout the fall and helped hold opponents to a 0.74 goals against average.
On the second team, freshman Katie Orgill was selected for her stellar offensive play. Orgill and Donnelly are tied for the conference lead in goals with 14 each, and both helped the women average 2.85 goals per game. In addition to being named to the second team, Orgill was also selected as the Landmark Rookie of the Year.
Coming off their first Landmark Championship, the Cardinals are ranked 25 in the country and will face off tomo rrow against Lynchburg in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
