Women's Soccer Dominates Rutgers-Camden with 4-0 Win
WASHINGTON-- Dominating in shots 15-2 the CUA women's soccer team (5-0) defeated Rutgers-Camden (2-3), 4-0 on Sunday to win the 2009 DC Classic hosted by The Catholic University of America.
Courtney Orgill led the Cardinals with four shots and two goals while Chelsea King and Michelle Spadaro each added a goal of their own. Kelly Donnelly earned the only assist of the match finding Orgill open in front of the net for her second tally.
Samantha Sharp led the attack for Rutgers-Camden with two shots, but with both shots flying wide of the net, Tere Rossi needed to make no saves in the contest for CUA.
Orgill started the scoring in the 34th minute finding a bouncing ball in front of the net and driving it to the bottom left corner. At the break CUA led 1-0.
The second half was nearly all CUA as the Cardinals scored in the 60th, 71st, and 82nd minutes to take home a 4-0 victory.
CUA defeated both Gwynedd-Mercy yesterday and Rutgers-Camden today to be named the 2009 DC Classic champions. The Cardinals are now four time champions of the DC Classic.
