With two goals in the game and seven for the season, Courtney Orgill took three shots for CUA in the contest. Caroline Burke added a goal, while Caitlin Brett ended the evening with two assists.
Beth Wiggins gave Marymount their best chance at a tally, but Christina Cassidy made her only save of the contest on the attempt for the Cardinals.
CUA dominated nearly every aspect of the contest, outshooting the hosts 20-2 and taking nine corners to Marymount's zero. There were only five total fouls in the match.
Burke opened the game with a goal in the second minute of play, while Orgill added two insurance goals in the 23rd and 47th minutes. Diana Spadaro waited until the 65th minute to score her first, but with a goal in the 67th and 75th minutes she netted a hat trick for the Cardinals, the first of the season and her first of her career. Spadaro did not start the second half and only entered the game in the 60th minute on the right side of midfield, typically playing on the left side for head coach JP Sousa.
CUA will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 2 p.m. as the Cardinals will travel to Alvernia. The Cards will then return to the CUA Soccer Fields for a match against Stevenson on Sept. 23 before beginning the 2009 Landmark Conference season with a match at Susquehanna on Sept. 26.
