Women's Soccer Dominates Conference Opener, 3-0
The Cardinals took 12 shots in the first half, but it wasn't until the 62nd minute that Kelly Donnelly found the back of the net after Diana Spadaro spotted her making a run toward the goal. Donnelly again found mesh in the 70th minute as she beat the keeper one-on-one. Courtney Orgill added to her season total in the 80th minute to give the Cardinals a 3-0 lead.
CUA controlled the pace throughout the game and, with a 22-6 advantage in shots, CUA keeper Christina Cassidy needed only two saves for the shutout. Corners were even in the match, but seven first half saves helped Susquehanna keep the match at 0-0 going into the break.
The Cardinals return to action at 4 p.m. on Sept. 29 when the team will travel to St. Mary's (Md.) for the first of two straight road matches.
