Cassidy named Defensive Player of the Week
WASHINGTON – Christina
Cassidy was rewarded for her play last week as she was named
the Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week on
Monday. Cassidy registered a pair of shutouts for CUA as the
Cardinals went 2-0 on the week.
Cassidy began the week with a two-save performance in CUA's 2-0
road win at Hood on Wednesday, October 6. The junior
goalkeeper then backed that up with three more saves in CUA's 2-0
conference win at Juniata on October 9. That victory kept the
Cardinals unbeaten in Landmark Conference play at 2-0.
For the season Cassidy has sent back 21 shots in 568 minutes of
action, while posting a save percentage of .808. Cassidy has
recorded three shutouts and earned four victories on the year.
Cassidy and the Cardinals will play three times this week,
beginning on Tuesday evening when they travel to take on Shenandoah
for a 7:00 match.
