Brett and Donatelli earn All-League accolades
WASHINGTON – A pair of CUA Cardinals was named to the 2010 All-Landmark Conference First Team, it was announced on Friday. Midfielder Caitlin Brett and defender Katie Donatelli received all-league accolades. The teams are voted upon by the conference's seven head coaches.
Brett started all 15 games for CUA this season and tied for the team lead with six points. She scored two goals and handed out two assists and ranked second among all Cardinals with 34 shots, 18 of which came on goal. Brett scored the game-winning goal vs. DeSales and she also scored in a win over Marymount. A captain, this is Brett's first career All-Conference selection.
Like Brett, Donatelli started all 15 games in 2010 and handed out one assist during that time, which came in a win over Delaware Valley. She helped lead the CUA defense to four shutouts, two of which came versus conference foes. This is Donatelli's first selection to the All-Conference team.
CUA recently completed its 2010 season and will now head into offseason workouts. The Cardinals return all but two players for next year.
