Landmark Conference names Zolbrod Off. Player of the Week
WASHINGTON – Regina Zolbrod was named the Landmark
Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after scoring the
game-winning goal in CUA’s 3-2 come-from-behind win over
Delaware Valley on September 11. Zolbrod helped lead the
Cardinals back from an early 2-0 deficit as CUA improved its record
to 3-1.
Zolbrod totaled three shots in the win over the Aggies on
Saturday, with her final shot being the most important.
Zolbrod took a beautiful feed from Katie Donatelli and beat the
Delaware Valley goalkeeper for her third goal of the season, and
second game-winner. The score came with just 3:20 to play as
CUA won its second straight match at the Griffin Classic.
In CUA’s 1-0 shutout of DeSales University on September 10,
Zolbrod registered three shots as the Cardinals opened action at
the Griffin Classic with a win.
For the season Zolbrod leads CUA with three goals and six
points. She has taken four shots on goal, with three of those
resulting in scores.
Zolbrod and the rest of the Cardinals will return to action on
September 16 when they travel to Pennsylvania to take on Gettysburg
under the lights. The match is scheduled to get underway
beginning at 7:00.
