Landmark Conference names Orgill Off. Player of the Week

WASHINGTON – Courtney Orgill has been named the Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday.  Orgill scored twice last week for the Cardinals, including the game-winner vs. Juniata on Saturday, and the junior is now tied for the conference lead with eight goals in 2011.

Orgill netted her first goal of the week in the 16th minute of the Cardinals match vs. Shenandoah on Tuesday.  The New Jersey native then scored in the 9th minute vs. Juniata on Saturday, and that proved to be all that CUA needed to down the Eagles and remain unbeaten within the Landmark.

For the season, Orgill has totaled eight goals, 16 points and three game-winning goals.  She leads CUA in all three categories.

Orgill and the Cardinals will play a pair of conference matches on the road this week, beginning on Wednesday evening at Goucher with the start time slated for 7 p.m.  On Saturday, CUA will head to Pennsylvania to take on Scranton in a 3:30 start.
