Landmark Conference announces women's soccer poll

WASHINGTON – CUA has been selected third in this year’s Landmark Conference preseason poll, announced on Tuesday.  The Cardinals garnered 39 points, with Drew and Scranton tying atop the poll with 56 points apiece.  CUA returns a pair of All-League selections from last season, including Caitlin Brett and Katie Donatelli.

Following Drew, Scranton and CUA in the poll are Juniata with 35 points, Moravian with 33, Susquehanna with 18 and Goucher with 15.

CUA lost just two players off of last year’s squad, which featured 16 freshmen and sophomores.  The Cardinals will play nine matches at home in 2011, beginning with the DC Classic on September 9 vs. FDU-Florham.

CUA opens its 2011 season with a pair of road matches, beginning on Thursday, September 1 when the Cardinals head across town to face Gallaudet.  Start time is slated for 7:30 pm.
