McGann named Landmark Conference Off. Player of the Week
WASHINGTON – Mary McGann has been named this week's Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday. McGann totaled four points for the Cardinals in a pair of wins last week, including the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory vs. Drew on Saturday, which took place in a snowstorm.
McGann began her week by handing out a pair of assists in the Cardinals 6-0 rout of Hood on Tuesday, October 25. McGann took one shot vs. the Blazers and assisted on the game-winning goal with a beautifully placed corner kick in the ninth minute of the match.
On Saturday McGann delivered the game-winning score vs. Drew in the 63rd minute when she took a feed from Ellen Jansen and blasted a shot into the bottom right corner of the goal. It was McGann's first goal of the season and lifted the Cardinals to their fifth Landmark Conference win of the season – the most they've ever had.
For the year McGann has scored one goal and handed out four assists for a total of six points.
McGann and the Cardinals return to the pitch on Wednesday afternoon when they host Susquehanna in the Landmark Conference Tournament semifinals. Start time is set for 2:30 p.m.
