Landmark Conference announces women's tennis preseason poll

WASHINGTON – The Landmark Conference released its annual preseason women’s tennis poll on Wednesday, and CUA was voted third with 47 points.  The Cardinals posted a record of 15-7 last season, which included a 4-2 mark within the Landmark Conference.

CUA had a strong bounce-back season in 2011, compiling 15 wins and earning a spot in the Landmark Conference Tournament.

The Cardinals went a perfect 9-0 at home and placed three student-athletes on the All-Conference Team.

Moravian received 65 points to claim the top spot in the poll, with Scranton next in line with 50 points.  CUA followed in the third spot (47) and Goucher was fourth (44).

Rounding out the poll are Susquehanna (27), Drew (26) and Juniata (14).

CUA has played once this season, falling at regionally ranked Salisbury on February 24.  The Cardinals will head to South Carolina for their annual spring break trip next week, beginning with a match vs. Mount Union on March 4.  Start time is set for noon.
