CUA races past Harford Community College 7-1
BEL AIR, Md. – CUA rolled past Harford Community College
7-1 on Friday afternoon. The Cardinals received singles wins from
Elaina Sceusa, Emma Needham, Isabel Tanco and Maria Notarianni,
while Marge Selinger and Liz Harvey, Ritamarie Holden and Tanco, as
well as Notarianni and Needham picked up doubles wins.
In singles action, the 1st flight match was halted due to
darkness, with Harvey and Sonora Ijdo tied at seven.
Holden fell at the 2nd flight, 6-2, 6-4 to Alex Cox.
At 3rd singles, Sceusa defeated Erika Richardson 8-1, 6-0, while
Needham picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win at the 4th flight.
Tanco defeated Ty-Chelle Winters 6-0, 6-0 at 5th singles and
Notarianni earned a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at the 6th flight.
CUA continued its dominance in doubles action, with Selinger and
Harvey earning a 9-8 win at the 1st flight.
Holden and Tanco teamed up to win the 2nd flight 8-5, and
Notarianni and Needham won the 3rd flight point, 8-6.
The Cardinals are back in action on Saturday, March 23 when they
travel to Pennsylvania to face Moravian in the Landmark Conference
opener. Start time is set for 1 p.m.
