Landmark Conference names Selinger Player of the Week
WASHINGTON – After helping to lead CUA to a pair of
conference wins over the weekend, senior Marge Selinger was named
the Landmark Conference Player of the Week on Monday. Selinger won
all four of her matches, including two at the 1st singles flight
and two at the 1st doubles flight.
On Saturday, Selinger earned a 6-4, 6-4 win over Stephanie Boccuzzi to help lead CUA to a 6-3 victory against Scranton. She then teamed up with Elizabeth Harvey at 1st doubles for an 8-5 win.
In CUA’s 9-0 sweep of Susquehanna on Sunday, Selinger picked up a hard-fought 4-6, 6-4, 6-0 singles win at the 1st flight against Shelby O’Riley. In doubles competition, Selinger and Harvey won another close match, picking up a 9-8 victory at the 1st flight.
For the season, Selinger has won six singles matches at the 1st flight, and in doubles, she has earned six more wins, all coming at the 1st flight.
Selinger and the Cardinals are back in action on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to face Goucher. Both teams are 3-0 in the Landmark Conference.
