CUA Concludes Fall Play With 9-0 Sweep of Harford

WASHINGTON – The Catholic University women's tennis team wrapped up the 2013 fall season with a 9-0 sweep of Harford Community College on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

All three doubles teams secured 8-0 victories.  No. 1 doubles team Elaina Sceusa and Isabel Tanco obtained their second win of the season.  No. 2 duo Emma Needham and Laura Torsiello also obtained their second win of the fall.  Andie Ingram and Elianna Martinez were the No. 3 doubles pair to finish the afternoon with a win and their second doubles win of 2013.

In singles play, Martinez added her six win of the season with a 6-3, 6-2 wins.  Torsiello, who concludes the fall season 7-0, by defeating her opponent 6-0, 6-0 as the No. 2 singles player.  Andie Ingram trails Torsiello with a record of 6-0 on a 6-1, 6-0 victory on Tuesday in the No. 3 slot.  Tanco beat her opponent 6-0, 6-1 for a 4-1 training season win.  Maria Notarianni, who moved up from the No. 6 position to the No. 5 position, conquered her Harford foe 6-1, 6-2.  Faith Tamuleviz, who was also undefeated this season, defeated her opponent 6-1, 6-0.

The Cards open the regular season with Landmark Conference foe Juniata on Saturday, March 15 on the CUA Tennis Courts.
