SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Catholic University women's tennis team wrapped up another solid Landmark Conference match on Sunday. The Cardinals defeated the Susquehanna University Crusaders (5-7, 1-4 Landmark), 6-2. With this win under their belt, the Cards improve to 5-8 on the season and 4-2 in the Landmark Conference.
CUA won all five matches of singles play to rise above the Crusaders. Since the games were moved indoors, both teams agreed to play a pro-set. Number one Rachel Tenuta (Fayetteville, N.C./Fayetteville) and number four Caitlin Dunn (Hanover, Pa./Delone) won 10-3, while number three Corinne Alcorn (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) defeated her opponent 10-2.
In doubles, Tenuta and Emily McGlynn (Tallahassee, Fla./Leon), as well as Alcorn and partner Reenie Costello (Neenah, Wis./Neenah), each took their matches 8-3.
The Cardinals will travel to McDaniel on Sunday for a non-conference match-up with the Green Terror.
