Inclement weather ends match early

GETTYSBURG, PA. - The Catholic University women's tennis team could not get on the board Thursday, as they were shutout for the first time this season. The women's team was fresh off its first victory of the 2008 campaign when they traveled to Pennsylvania where inclement weather would call the match early. With the loss the team drops to 2-8 overall and a record of 1-2 in conference play on the season.
The Cards were not able to pick up a point, but doubles partners Caitlin Dunn (Hanover, Pa./Delone) and Mary Wargo (Manchester, N.H./Trinity) came close to victory but fell short 8-5 to Gettysburg. CUA looks to finish out the season strong and will play three Landmark Conference matches before ending the season with McDaniel College. CUA sits one game back of the fourth and final playoff spot of Juniata College who they will face Sunday April 6th at 1:30 p.m. at the DuFour Center.
