McGlynn Named CoSIDA Academic
Senior was recipient of Donley Cup
WASHINGTON - The Catholic University of America tennis player Emily McGlynn (Tallahassee, Fla./Leon) was announced as a second team Academic All-Region honoree by the College Sports Information Directors of America the organization announced Thursday. McGlynn was selected as an at-large athlete where teams are made up of student-athletes from 13 different NCAA female sports including tennis.
McGlynn, a three-sport athlete, capped off her senior year by winning the athletic department's top honor the Sr. Rosemary Donley Cup last week at the annual senior banquet. On the tennis courts she is a two-time all-conference honoree. This past season she was first team All-Landmark at #2 singles as well as at #1 doubles, McGlynn went 8-4 overall and was 5-1 in conference.
The double major in philosophy and mathematics also managed to keep up a 3.93 GPA while excelling in other sports and on campus. McGlynn was an all-conference setter and team captain for the volleyball team and has also been an active participant in campus ministry over the past four years.
