Women's Tennis comes up short in Landmark Play

Washington, DC- The Catholic University Women's Tennis team are coming off a tough week after losing two consecutive matches to Landmark conference rivals Juniata and Goucher.  With these two loses the Cards fall to 3-9 overall and 0-5 in the Landmark Conference this season and only have one remaining match left in the regular season.

The Cardinal's 8-1 loss to Juniata had a few bright spots including a doubles win by Rachel Tenuta (Fayetteville, Nc.) and Caitlin Dunn (Hanover, Pa.) by a count of 8-4.  With this win, the duo, moved into second place in the conference with a record of 6 -2 when playing together and are ranked number one in the conference among #1 doubles pairs.  In the match against Goucher, Catholic saw a solid performance again from Rachel Tenuta who managed to win the only singles match for the Cards 6-2, 6-3.

Catholic University will host Susquehanna University Saturday April 18, 2009 at the DuFour Center tennis courts.  This match marks the end of the 2009 season for the Red and Black as they look to close out the season strong.
