CUA Tennis Tops Notre Dame 6-2

WASHINGTON- The CUA women's tennis team started their season off on the right foot, defeating Notre Dame 6-2 in a non-conference match-up Thursday afternoon.
The Cardinals dominated in singles play with freshman Marjorie Sellinger (Stonington, Conn) leading the way. Sellinger overcame Notre Dame's Miku White in three games (6-3, 3-6, 7-5). Teammate Ritamarie Holden (Huntington, Md.) also had a stellar performance for the Red and Black, shutting down her opponent in just two games (6-2, 6-4).
Number three doubles pair Margaux Blaux (Phoenixville, Pa.) and Rosemary Lee Montani (Lewiston, N.Y.) were a dominating force for CUA, defeating ND doubles pair Yenrue Chen and Stephanie Uza 8-0.
The Cardinals will now travel to Winchester, Va. to face Shenandoah on September 19th, followed by a match at Hood College on the same day.
