After 2-0 showing, Harvey named CUA Athlete of the Week

WASHINGTON – After going 2-0 for CUA in its win over Susquehanna on Thursday, Liz Harvey has been named the CUA Athlete of the Week.  Harvey earned a win at sixth singles for the Cardinals and then teamed up with Caitlin Porter to record a third doubles victory to close out the regular season on a strong note.

Harvey took down Susquehanna's Whitney Arcaro 6-3, 6-0 at sixth singles in the match on April 21 and then in doubles action, her and Porter earned an 8-3 victory over Ellen Pullsinelle and Arcaro.  CUA won the match 5-4 to earn its 15th win of the season.

For the year Harvey has posted an impressive 11-2 mark in singles play, including a perfect 5-0 record against Landmark Conference opponents.  In doubles action Harvey is 5-3.

Harvey and the Cardinals will be back in action on Wednesday when they begin play in the 2011 Landmark Conference Tournament.  CUA is heading to Pennsylvania as the No. 3 seed where it will face second-seeded Moravian at 3 p.m.  No. 1 Goucher hosts No. 4 Scranton in the other semifinal.
