CUA upended by Moravian 5-4 on the road
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Cardinals dropped a tough 5-4
decision at Moravian on Saturday in their Landmark Conference
opener. Elaina Sceusa, Ritamarie Holden, Caitlin Porter and
Elizabeth Harvey earned singles wins for CUA (9-5), but the
Greyhounds (5-3) swept the doubles matches to earn the one-point
victory.
Chelsea Ott downed CUA’s Marjorie Sullinger 6-0, 6-1 at
first singles and Andie Ingram fell to Jami Fein 6-0, 6-0 at the
second flight as the Greyhounds went in front 2-0.
Sceusa got CUA on the board with a 6-7, 6-1, 10-8 win at third
singles and Holden followed with a 6-3, 6-2 win at the fourth
flight.
Porter earned a 6-0, 3-6, 10-4 win over Stephanie Cox at fifth
singles and Harvey took down Olivia Sonnabend 6-0, 6-1 at the sixth
flight.
Moravian swept the doubles matches winning 8-1 at the first
flight, 8-3 at the second flight and 8-6 at the third flight.
CUA will return to action on Saturday, April 2 when the Cardinals
host Scranton. Start time is 1 p.m.
