Carioto named Landmark Conference Field Athlete of the Week

WASHINGTON – Kelly Carioto was named the Landmark Conference Field Athlete of the Week on Monday after posting a trio of top-four finishes at the Jim Taylor Invitational on Saturday.  Carioto won the shot put, finished third in the discus and registered a fourth place finish in the hammer.

Carioto claimed first place in the shot put with a throw of 37’5 ¾”, beating out a field of 36 competitors.  The senior then placed third in the discus (119’9”) out of 32 entries, and fourth in the hammer throw (126’2”) out of 22 student-athletes.

This marks the second time this academic year that Carioto earned a weekly award from the Landmark Conference after she was named the Indoor Field Athlete of the Week on December 5.

Carioto and the rest of the Cardinals return to action on Saturday, April 14 when they travel to the Messiah College Invitational.
