CUA performs well at Jim Taylor Invitational in Pa.
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – CUA competed at the Jim Taylor
Invitational on Saturday, which took place on the campus of
Susquehanna University. Kelly Carioto posted the
Cardinals’ top finish, with a first place showing in the shot
put, while Camelia Mayfield placed third in the 3000-meter
steeplechase.
Mayfield finished third in the 3000-meter steeplechase, crossing
in a time of 11:33.71, while Sarah Deitz came in sixth place in the
100 meter dash (13.56). Deitz later added a 14th place finish
in the 200 meters, posting a time of 28.14 seconds.
In the 1500 meters, Laura Kinley finished 15th in a time of
5:03.93 and Rebecca Radcliffe placed 29th (5:31.46), while in the
800, Maria Docal crossed in 18th place (2:36.32) and Keely Eckberg
was 29th (2:42.91).
In the 4x100 relay, CUA B came in fifth place, posting a time of
55.48 seconds, and in the 4x400 relay, CUA A posted a seventh place
showing, finishing in 4:25.78 and CUA B was 15th (4:44.57).
In the field events, Carioto won the shot put with a throw of
37’5 ¾”, with Mary Clark finishing third
(35’5 ¼”) and Kerri Hanely placing 16th
(30’4 ¾”).
Clark also posted a third place finish in the hammer throw with a
toss of 128’1”, with Carioto finishing fourth
(126’2”) and Christine Fontaine coming in 17th
(95’8”).
Carioto also placed third in the discus (119’9”),
while Clark came in 17th (90’8”) and Kerri Hanely was
21st (80’).
In the pole vault, Erin Sandlin cleared 9’ 1/4” to
place fifth and in the triple jump, Candance Williamson posted a
13th place finish (30’9”). Courtney Doran tied
for seventh in the high jump by clearing 4’7
¾”.
CUA will return to action on April 14 when the Cardinals travel to
compete at the Messiah College Invitational. Start time is
set for 9 a.m.
