Cardinals place 8th at Bow-Tie Classic to open indoor season
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – CUA opened its 2012-13 indoor season
on Saturday and the Cardinals finished 8th at the 15-school Bow-Tie
Classic, hosted by Ursinus College. CUA totaled 31 points on
the day, led by Megan Ross and Mary Clark, who finished one-two in
the shot put.
Ross won the shot with a throw of 37’1” to earn ten
points for the Cards, while Clark was next in line with a throw of
36’7 ¾”.
Hannah Gillis totaled three points for CUA with a sixth place
finish in the long jump, leaping 15’4”.
In the triple jump, Candace Williamson came in third (30’3
¼”), while Kim Ryan placed fifth
(30’1/4”), earning six and four points towards
CUA’s total, respectively.
Host Ursinus won the event with 124.5 points, while Coppin State
was second with 78.5 points and Misericordia came in third with
66.5.
CUA is now off until next year when the Cardinals head to Newport
News, Va., for the Captains Invitational on January 20. Start
time is set for 10 a.m.
