Relay teams lead CUA at Landmark Conference indoor champs

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Bolstered by terrific performances from its relay teams, CUA tied for third at the Landmark Conference indoor championship on Saturday. The distance medley relay team and 4 x 800 relay team both earned first place finishes, while the 4 x 400 relay team posted a third place finish. Mary Clark and Megan Ross both placed 2nd in the field events.

The foursome of Rebecca Radcliffe, Kristen Rayfield, Maria Docal and Keely Eckberg won the distance medley relay in a time of 13:21.05

The 4 x 800 relay team of Rayfield, Jane Marrinan, Bridget Krumholz and Laura Kinley also took first, finishing in a time of 10:17.56.

CUA's 4 x 400 relay team continued the momentum, with Erin Sandlin, Kelsely Broomfield, Hannah Gillis and Grace Weaver placing 3rd in 4:19.90.

Kinley placed third in the mile, crossing in 5:17.42, and third in the 800 meters, with a time of 2:27.16.

Grace Weaver came in fifth in the 200 meters, posting a time of 27.65.

In the 5000, Eckberg (19:01.39) and Radcliffe (19:07.81) finished three-four, respectively, while Cristina Butrico (20:13.66) and Erin Schlegel (20:13.93) came in 10th and 11th, respectively.

In the field events, Clark finished 2nd in the weight throw, with a toss of 43' 11.25", while Ross was 7th (38' 10.5").

Ross posted a 2nd place finish in the shot put, recording a throw of 37' 10.5", with Clark coming in 6th (34' 2.25").

Weaver finished 5th in the high jump, clearing 4' 7.75".

CUA totaled 76 points on the afternoon, to tie for third place with Juniata. Moravian claimed the championship after scoring 176 points, followed by Susquehanna with 127. CUA and Juniata were followed by USMMA (38) and Goucher (34).
