Four Cardinals finish first at YCP Green and White Invite

YORK, Pa. – Four Cardinals earned first place finishes on Saturday, to help CUA place 4th at the YCP Green and White Invite. Laura Kinley (800 meters), Maria Dextra Cercos (100 hurdles), Megan Ross (shot put) and Mary Clark (hammer) all finished atop the leaderboard in their respective events.

Kinley's time of 2:21.92 led her to a 1st place finish in the 800, while Cercos crossed in 16.73 to win the 100 hurdles.

In the 400, Bridget Krumholz placed 2nd, finishing in a time of 1:02.90, while Hanna Gillis placed 4th in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:15.

Grace Weaver finished 3rd in the 100 meters with a time of 13.20 and 4th in the 200 meters, crossing in 27.44.

In the relay events, Kinley, Kelsley Broomfield, Cercos and Krumholz took 2nd in the 4 x 400, finishing in 4:14.90.

In the field events, Ross took 1st in the shot put with a throw of 11.61 meters and 2nd in the discus (33.49), while Clark won the hammer with a throw of 40.62 meters. Ross placed 3rd in the hammer (34.83).

Gillis' leap of 4.69 meters was good for 3rd in the long jump.

Dickinson scored 178 points to finish first in the team standings, followed by Lebanon Valley (171), York (127), and CUA.

The Cardinals are back in action on Saturday, April 13 when they travel to the Messiah College Invite. Start time is set for 9 a.m.
