WASHINGTON - After setting a Landmark conference and meet record in the Weight Throw at the Indoor Track & Field championship on Saturday, Mary Clark was recognized as the Landmark Women's Field Co-Athlete of the Year.
Clark was named 1st Team All-Landmark for winning the crown in the Weight Throw with a career-best 15.34 meter throw. On February 10, she was named the Landmark Field Player of the Week for breaking the Catholic record in the Weight Throw with a then personal-best of 14.20 meters.
Joining Clark with All-Landmark recognition is Courtney Doran (High Jump) and Megan Ross (Shot Put) who were each named 2nd Team All-Landmark for finishing second in their events. Doran cleared the bar at 1.47 meters for second place in the High Jump. Ross earned a second place finish in the Shot Put with a 11.57 meter throw.
On the men's side, John Brewer was also named 2nd Team All-Landmark after crossing the finish line second in the 1 Mile with a time of 4:30.57.
With her performance this weekend, Clark qualified for the ECAC Championship and will head to Boston, Mass. to compete on Saturday. Joining her will be CUA's 4x200 meter relay team of Maria Dextra Cercos, Tori Maue, Bridget Krumholz, and Danielle Caruccio who placed third in the Landmark Championship and qualified with a 1:51.54 time.
