Cardinals Pick Up Four 1st Place Finishes at Goucher Invitational

WASHINGTON - The Catholic University women's track & field team picked up four individual first place finishes at the Goucher College Invitational on Saturday, March 29 in Towson, Md.

Danielle Caruccio picked up the first win of the day for Catholic, winning the 400 meter dash in 60.81. Bridget Krumholz finished fifth in the same event with a 62.94 time.

Mary Clark swept the field events, winning the Shot Put, Discus, and Hammer Throw. Clark won the Shot Put with a 10.87 meter throw, the Discus with a 29.49 effort, and a 43.31 meter performance in the Hammer Throw.

Krumholz picked up a second place finish in the 200 meter sprint with a time of 28.47.

Three Cardinals finished in the top-5 of the 10,000 meter run, as Rebecca Radcliffe led the team with a second place finish with a 40:05.92 finish, just before Erin Schlegel crossed the finish line at 40:06.46. Cristina Butrico picked up fifth place with a 44:07.17 time.

Maria Dextra Cercos, Caruccio, Krumholz, and Victoria Maue teamed up for a third place finish in the 4x100 meter relay, with a 54.29 performance.

The Cardinals return to action next weekend, traveling to Frostburg St. for the Bobcat Invitational on April 4-5.
