WASHINGTON - The Catholic University women's track & field team traveled to Frostburg, Md. to compete at the Bobcat Invitational on Saturday, April 5.
Mary Clark led the Cardinals with the team's lone first place of the day, taking the top performance in the Hammer Throw with a 40.98 meter toss. Kaila DeFalco cracked into the top-10 with a 30.43 meter throw.
Candace Williamson placed fourth in both the Long Jump and Triple Jump with attempts of 4.35 meters and 9.66 meters, respectively.
In the Shot Put, Megan Ross had a 10.27 meter toss to finish fifth, one spot above Clark who had a 10.26 meter throw.
Cercos took third place in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.36, while Kaila DeFalco was seventh, crossing the finish line in 21.08.
In the 100 meter sprint, Maue grabbed another top-5 finish, running the sprint in 13.67 for fourth.
CUA had five runners in the 800 meter run, as Brianna Navarro finished in sixth with a 2:44.82 time, less than a second ahead of Catherine Kitz at 2:45.43 who finished seventh. Rounding ou the top-10 was Rebecca Radcliffe in at ninth with a time of 2:48.22. Erin Schlegel (2:51.69) and Cristina Butrico (3:01.27) finished in 12th and 14th, respectively.
Kitz moved up three spots in the 1500 meter run with a 5:17.69 time, good for fourth place. Radcliffe was not far behind, as the senior crossed the finish line in 5:21.66.
Krumholz ran a 27.97 time in the 200 meter dash for fourth place.
Kitz, Radcliffe, Schlegel, and Navarro teamed up for the 4x400 meter relay and came in fifth with a time of 5:03.76.
