Shashaty ’09, Carioto ’12 & Clark ’15 Selected to Landmark All-Decade Team

WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America women's track & field was honored with three selections to Landmark Conference All-Decade Team as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Mary Shashaty '09, Kelly Carioto '12 and Mary Clark '15 were all recognized for their outstanding accomplishments.

Shashaty was a three-time First Team All-Conference selection for the Cardinals. She was a member of the 4x800m relay team that won in 2008 with a time of 10:19.87 and was part of the Distance Medley Relay team that won in 2008 and 2009. Shashaty was also named to the Academic Honor Roll twice.

Carioto was a four-time All-Landmark First Team selection in the shot put. Carioto posted her best throw in 2012 with a mark of 12.63m. She was named to the Landmark Academic Team from 2010-2012 and the Landmark Academic Honor Roll Team from 2010-2012.

Clark was a two-time champion in the weight throw (2014, 2015) was finished second in the event in 2013. Her mark of 15.34 in the weight throw set in 2014 is a conference championship record and she was named Field Athlete of the Year in 2014. She was also named to both the Academic Team and Academic Honor Roll in 2014 and 2015.

The 2016-17 season marks the 10th year anniversary for the Landmark Conference. To help celebrate, the Landmark featured individuals that have stood out over the past 10 years. The teams were selected by the league's head coaches.
