TWO CARDINAL ATHLETES RECEIVE PLAYER OF WEEK HONORS
WASHINGTON-- CUA shortstop Joseph Maca and track athlete Kim Stengle have earned Capital Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors.
Maca batted .579 for the week (11-for-19) including a triple and seven runs scored while driving in six runs. His best performance came against Gettysburg where he went 4-for-6 with 3 RBI and four runs scored.
Stengle set a facility and meet record for the hammer throw at the Bridgewater College Invitational, throwing it 135' 2". This is the second meet in a row she's placed first in the hammer throw after placing first in last week's Roanoke Invitational. Stengle, who also played goalkeeper for the 2005 CAC champion women's soccer team, placed third in the discus, second in the javelin, and fifth in the shot put at Bridgewater.
