Stengle Sets CUA Record at Postseason ECAC
WASHINGTON (May 24, 2005) -- Catholic University of America sophomore Kim Stengle set a new school record in the javelin at the postseason Division III Eastern College Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Springfield College in Springfield, Mass.
Stengle's throw of 36.87 meters was a personal season best and wiped out the javelin record set in March of 1990 at 35.97 meters. She placed 11th of 27 in the overall javelin standings. On April 16, Stengle won the conference javelin title with a throw of 34.79 at the Capital Athletic Conference Championships in Baltimore, Md. She also competed in the hammer with a toss of 41.46 meters placing 15th of 23.
"This was a most improved season for Kim," Head Coach Joe Fisher said. "She has been an outstanding student and competitor."
