Cardinals Take Fourth at
CUA will prepare for Landmark meet
GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Catholic University women's track and field team placed fourth out of seven teams at the Mason Dixon Invitational held at Gettysburg College on Saturday. The Cards scored 55 points but fell to the host Bullets who had 351 points at the meet.
CUA put together a solid day on the track with five top five finishes. Freshman Rachel Won (Kaneohe, Hi./'Iolani School) continued to establish herself as the team's top hurdler with a second place finish in the 100 hurdles. She ran a 16.70 which was better than her time of 17.12 in the preliminaries. Jenna Hackett (Fort Collins, Colo./Fort Collins) placed third in the 5,000 meters with a 20:14.94 and teammate Alys Cheatle (Hickory, N.C./St. Stevens) came in right after at fourth running a 20:39.63. Sophomore Remy Ball (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) was fourth in the 800 meters with a 2:30.30. Rounding out the performances was the 4x400 relay team which took third in a time of 4:29.82.
The Cardinals will have one final week to prepare for the Landmark Conference Championship next weekend.
