Women's Track Enjoys Great Success at Dragon Invitational 


COLUMBIA, Md.- The CUA women's track team traveled to Columbia, Md. on Sunday afternoon to compete at the Dragon Invitational. Led by Rachel Won (Kaneohe, Hi./'Iolani School), the squad saw a total of eight first place and two second place finishes on the afternoon.

Won alone earned three first place finishes at the Invitational for the Cards. The sophomore finished atop the 100 meter hurdles (17.89), 400 meter hurdles (1:11.33), and javelin throw (26.75m). Katie Sacker (Catonville, Md.) earned two first places finishes of her own in the 800 meter run (2:35.58) and 1500 meter run (5:06.00). Kristin Kennedy (Great falls, Va./Kolbe Academy) also finished first in the high jump (1.42m), and CUA earned a first place finish in the 4 x 400 meter relay.

Annie George (Forest Hill, Md./C. Milton Wright) earned a second place finish in the 200 meter dash with a time of 14.29. Senior Jenna Hackett (Fort Collins, Colo./Fort Collins) also finished second in the 1500 meter run (5:14.80).

CUA looks to continue their winning ways as they hit the road next Saturday, March 28th for the annual Bridgewater College Invitational. The meet is scheduled for 9 a.m.
