 Women's Track Competes in Messiah Invitational


GRANTHAM, Pa.- The Catholic University of America women's track team earned a sixth place finish at the Messiah College Invitational Saturday afternoon. The squad saw a number of strong performances at the meet, earning one first place, two second place, and three third place finishes.

Kelly Carioto (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) was CUA's lone top finish of the afternoon, throwing 11.43 meters in the shot put. Remy Ball (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) earned a second place in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 4:54.68. The squad also placed second in the 4x800 meter relay.

Kristin Kennedy (Great falls, Va./Kolbe Academy) earned two third place finishes at the meet. The senior earned a time of 16.84 in the 100 meter hurdles, and then a time of 70.73 in the 400 meter hurdles. Katie Sacker (Catonville, Md) earned third place in the 3,000 meter Steeplechase.

The team will return to action this weekend, April 25-26, as they head to Goucher College for the Landmark Conference Championships. The meet is scheduled for 12 p.m.
