CUA Nabs 4th at Mason-Dixon Invitational
GETTYSBURG, Pa.- The Catholic University women's track team earned a fourth-place finish at the Gettysburg Invitational Saturday afternoon, after a number of Cardinals posted excellent individual marks.
CUA's Kelly Carioto took took top finishes at the meet in the shot put and discuss events. She first tossed 11.7m in the shot, then threw 35.76m in the discuss. The sophomore also earned 5th in the hammer throw. Megan Dietzler also earned a first place finish in the 5000 meter run, completing the event in 19:30.35.
Rachel Won had strong performances in the 400 meter hurdles and javelin throw, earning third place in both events. She also finished seventh in the 100 meter hurdles and ninth in the high jump. Jamie Dagleish also tallied points for the Cardinal squad with a third place finish in the 10,000 meter run.
Laura Kinley earned fourth in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:57.69. Teammate Remy Ball finished sixth in the same event. Kathryn Crawford rounded out the top finishes with a fourth place effort in the 3000m steeple chase.
CUA's relay teams also had great success at the meet, finishing first and second in the 4x100 meter relay and 4x400 meter relay, respectively.
The Cardinals will be back in action on Thursday, April 22, as they compete in the Penn Relays.
