Women's Track Finishes 3rd at Landmark Championships
SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Catholic University of America women's track team finished third at the Landmark Conference Outdoor Track Championships this weekend.
Laura Kinley and Rachel Won were both named to the 1st Team All-Conference for their superior efforts. Kinley nabbed first place in both the 800 meters and the 1500 meters, and was also named Landmark Rookie of the Year. Won also earned conference honors after finishing first in the heptathalon, 6th in the 100 meter hurdles, and 7th in the 400 meter hurdles.
Sophomore Kelly Carioto had another strong showing in two field events, shot put and discus throw. Carioto placed 2nd in the shot with a toss of 11.47m, and 11th in the discus with a throw of 26.61m.
Kelly Szal and Megan Deitzler added points for CUA by each placing 3rd in the heptathalon and 3000m steeplechase, respectively. Szal also placed 9th in the high jump, while Deitzler nabbed 5th in the 5000 meters.
Emma Marty grabbed 4th place in the heptathalon, and Katie Sacker finished 4th in the 10000 meter run. Kathryn Crawford and Gina Maini placed 5th and 6th, respectively, in the 3000 meter steeplechase.
Rounding out CUA's highest finishes were Remy Ball, Ashley Suermann, and Jamie Dalgleish. Ball finished 6th in the 800 meter hurdles, while Suermann and Dalgleish finished 6th in the 400 meter hurdles and 10000 meter run, respectively.
