Landmark Conference names Won Female Athlete of the Week
WASHINGTON – Rachel Won was named the Landmark Conference
Female Track Athlete of the Week on Monday. The Cardinals
senior had a great all-around day at the York Invitational on April
2 where she competed in four events, including the 100 hurdles, 400
hurdles, 4x400 relay and the javelin.
Won began her day with a second place showing in the 100 hurdles,
crossing the finish line in 17.79 seconds. She then finished
third in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:13.44.
Later, Won competed with the 4x400 relay team where she helped
lead the Cardinals to a second place finish in 4:34.82.
Won finished her day out with a throw of 25.57 meters in the
javelin, which placed her in third place.
With Won leading the way CUA placed third at the event out of nine
schools in attendance.
Won and the Cardinals will be back in action this weekend, April
9, when they travel to the Messiah College Invitational. Action
gets underway at 9 a.m.
