Two Cardinals post top-three finishes on day one of champs.

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – CUA opened competition at the 2011 Landmark Conference outdoor championships on Saturday on the campus of Juniata.  Kelly Carioto placed second in the discus with a throw of 124'4" to earn eight points for the Cardinals, while in the 10,000 meters Camelia Mayfield finished third in a time of 40:23.90.

Laura Kinley scored two points in the 1500 meter run after she crossed in seventh place with a time of 4:59.38 and Rachel Won also scored two points with a seventh place finish in the javelin (92'4").

Joining Mayfield in the 10,000 was Keely Eckberg, who crossed in seventh place in 42:20.91.

CUA currently sits in fourth place with 20 points in the team standings.  Moravian leads the competition with 84 points, followed by Susquehanna with 62, Juniata (56), CUA (20) and Goucher (6).

Action at the 2011 Landmark Conference championships will conclude on Sunday with the day's events beginning at 9 a.m.
