Landmark Conference names Jean Player of the Week
WASHINGTON – After helping lead CUA to a 3-0 week that
helped the Cardinals extend their winning streak to nine, Claudia
Jean was named the Landmark Conference Player of the Week on
Monday. The junior totaled 35 kills, 27 digs and seven
assists for the Cardinals last week.
Jean averaged 3.7 points, 3.5 kills and 2.7 digs per set in the
three matches for CUA. She started the week with 12 digs, six kills
and three assists in a 3-0 road win at McDaniel, added 17 kills,
seven digs and three assists in a 3-1 victory over Marymount and
closed the week with 12 kills, eight digs and an assist in another
3-0 win, this one coming over Misericorida.
For the season Jean has registered a team-leading 103 kills to go
along with 124 digs and 16 assists.
CUA is back in action on Saturday when the Cardinals travel to
Aston, Pa. for a tri-match with Neumann and Baptist Bible
College. CUA will face Baptist Bible at 1 p.m. and Neumann at
3.
