CUA keeps things rolling, wins seventh straight at McDaniel
WESTMINSTER, Md. – The CUA volleyball team continued its
winning ways on Tuesday evening, downing McDaniel 3-0 for its
seventh straight victory. The Cardinals won in straight sets
by scores of 25-18, 25-7 and 25-6 to improve to 8-1 on the
year.
CUA totaled 31 kills as a team with Claudia Jean and Isabel
Eberstadt leading the way with six apiece. Michaela Carroll
handed out 24 assists for the Cardinals and Kristina Purcell (16)
and Jean (12) totaled double-digit digs in the win.
Tess O’Leary registered three of the Cardinals four blocks
and Molly Owens was the team leader in aces with six.
For McDaniel, Hannah Krobock led the way with nine digs, and Anne
McShea recorded four kills.
With Tuesday’s result, all nine of CUA’s matches this
season have been decided by identical 3-0 scores.
CUA is back in action on Saturday when the Cardinals host a
tri-match inside the DuFour Center. CUA will take on
Marymount at 11 a.m. and Misericorida at 3 p.m. with the two
visiting teams meeting at 1 p.m.
The Cardinals still have two weeks before Landmark Conference
action gets underway the weekend of October 1-2.
